Amethyst Leopard searches for Bengal Charlie, the Secretary General of the United Cat Nations who has gone missing. The Secretary General has negotiated the Peace Accords with Bull Durham, the Grand Wizard of the Society of Pooches and Cat Antagonizers (SPCA). Amethyst plunges into the world of diplomats, intellectuals and would be revolutionaries in order to learn what happened that night and why the Secretary General is gone. What she learns is how the political divide has made strange bedfellows committed to changing the established order while resisting the change the Peace Accords represent.

When the ghost of a cat writer returns to write a ghost story as the ghost writer to a new kitten, all hell breaks loose for Amethyst Leopard, one more time.
When PhantomCat passes on, his ghost returns to the home of the long and short hairs, to find someone for whom he can ghost write the next in his Amethyst Leopard series. Finding a new kitten, LuccaCat, willing and able to learn to write novels, they embark on a quest to write the definitive ghost story. This time Amethyst Leopard is asked to assist the Society of Pooches and Cat Antagonizers find out who caused the unexpected passing of the Duke of Yorkshire Terriers.
